One individual has tragically passed away following a traffic incident that occurred north of Whitehorse on Wednesday. According to a statement released by the RCMP on Thursday, a collision involving two vehicles occurred near Little Fox Lake along the North Klondike Highway around 2:30 p.m.
Authorities reported that one of the passengers was declared deceased at the crash site, while both drivers and another passenger received medical attention. The highway was temporarily shut down after the incident, reopening to one lane later that Wednesday afternoon and fully resuming normal traffic flow by Thursday afternoon.
The RCMP has not disclosed the identity of the deceased individual as investigations into the crash’s cause are still ongoing.
