The man, who worked for an independent potato supplier, lost his life earlier today at the Kilbrew site in Ashbourne, Co Meath. Authorities, including Gardai and emergency services, swiftly responded to the scene.
Tayto, in a statement, expressed deep shock and sorrow over the incident and affirmed its commitment to cooperate with investigations. The company has notified the deceased’s next of kin. They stated, “Ensuring the safety and well-being of everyone on our premises is our top priority, and we will fully support inquiries into this tragic event.”
Managing Director John O’Connor conveyed his devastation and condolences to the affected family, friends, and colleagues. Additionally, a garda spokesperson confirmed the fatality, stating that the Health and Safety Authority will conduct its investigation into the workplace accident.
