London authorities have pressed charges against a local massage therapist for alleged sexual assault, indicating the possibility of additional undisclosed victims. The case unfolded when a complainant reported an incident on July 30, disclosing an assault that took place the day before during a scheduled treatment session. Following an inquiry, law enforcement apprehended Christian Javier Gutierrez, aged 47, on the same day. Subsequently, two other individuals have stepped forward with similar allegations, leading to three additional charges of sexual assault against Gutierrez.
The accused voluntarily surrendered to the police on Monday and made a court appearance in London on Wednesday. He was granted release pending a future court appearance scheduled for later in August. Operating a massage therapy enterprise in the downtown area, Gutierrez’s actions have prompted the College of Massage Therapists of Ontario to be informed. Investigators suspect that there could be more victims who have yet to share their experiences.
