RCMP officials in Nunavut have filed murder charges against a minor following a shooting incident in Chesterfield Inlet that resulted in the death of a man. Law enforcement in Chesterfield Inlet responded to a shooting report at a residence around 1 a.m. on Friday, October 9. Upon arrival, they discovered a man displaying injuries consistent with a gunshot wound. The wounded individual was transported to the local health facility, where he was later pronounced deceased. The suspect was apprehended on the same day. On Tuesday, Nunavut RCMP disclosed that the juvenile had been formally accused of first-degree murder. The defendant is presently in custody and is slated to appear in court in Iqaluit on November 16.
