In St. John’s, observers gathered at the Johnson Geo Centre to watch the moon move across the sun. The watch party, held from 12 p.m. to 5 p.m., was organized in collaboration with the Royal Astronomical Society of Canada and STEM Girls. Astronomer Hiding Neilson from Memorial University shared his excitement, mentioning how he observed the moon gradually obscuring the sun through his telescope.
