The upcoming changes by OC Transpo to enhance service will be implemented starting this Sunday, as confirmed by the agency’s general manager, who mentioned actively considering feedback from the public. One of the recent opportunities for transit riders to voice their concerns was at the John G. Mlacak Community Centre in Kanata during a customer information session held by OC Transpo. Sarita Chaudhary, who shared her experience, highlighted that her commute time has significantly increased, leading her to switch from taking the bus to driving after two decades of bus rides.
Express buses emerged as a prominent theme in the information sessions held in Nepean, Orléans, and Kanata, as OC Transpo General Manager Rick Leary acknowledged. Leary emphasized the demand for more express routes and streamlined services, which the public has consistently emphasized. The upcoming changes at the end of the month are expected to introduce additional express routes, as indicated by OC Transpo, with seven express routes set to connect transit stations and key employment hubs.
Moreover, Leary noted concerns regarding the communication quality from frontline staff and pledged to address this issue by improving information dissemination to customers at stations and bus stops. He also expressed intentions to conduct more public engagements with riders in the future to gather feedback and enhance the overall transit experience.
