Phoenix Mercury Dominate Toronto Tempo 101-69

Noemie Brochart and Shay Ciezki each contributed 15 points to lead the Phoenix team in a convincing 101-69 victory over the Toronto Tempo. This win marked the second-largest margin of victory for Phoenix this season, following their impressive 99-66 season opener against the Las Vegas Aces.

In addition to Brochart and Ciezki’s strong performances, Sami Whitcomb added 14 points, while Marta Suarez and Maddy Westbeld contributed 13 and 12 points off the bench, respectively. Lexi Held also chipped in with 11 points for the Mercury (14-26), ending their four-game losing streak.

Alyssa Thomas showcased her playmaking skills with 12 assists, marking her 11th game this season with 10 or more assists. On the other side, Isabelle Harrison recorded a double-double with 16 points and 10 rebounds, while Kiki Rice and Laura Juskaite added 14 and 10 points for the Tempo, who were coming off a 93-73 loss to Las Vegas the previous day.

Despite their efforts, the Tempo (11-29) continue to miss their top scorer, Marina Mabrey, who has been sidelined for the past six games due to an adductor injury, averaging 20.8 points per game.

Phoenix took control early in the game, establishing a 21-8 lead and maintaining it throughout. They led 27-17 after the first quarter, extended the lead to 58-35 by halftime, and dominated the third quarter with a 30-point performance, leading 88-49 going into the final quarter.
