Russia’s Defense Ministry announced on Sunday that they will increase their airstrikes on targets in Kyiv and various regions in Ukraine in response to recent comments made by Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy. The ministry stated that Russian forces will escalate attacks on military installations, defense industry facilities, and associated infrastructure in Kyiv and other parts of Ukraine.
In an interview with Reuters, Zelenskyy mentioned that Ukraine will enhance its attacks on Russian oil refineries as a countermeasure to Moscow’s new airstrike strategy aimed at compelling residents to evacuate Kyiv and other urban areas. However, he emphasized that civilian populations will not be targeted in these actions.
Simultaneously, a fire erupted at an industrial site in Russia’s Krasnodar region due to drone debris falling on the location in the Temryuk district, as reported by regional authorities on Sunday. Three individuals sustained injuries and were undergoing medical treatment, with emergency services actively engaged at the site.
