Teen’s Bullying Ordeal Raises Absence Fine Concerns

A teenager’s father has raised concerns about facing potential fines due to his son’s absence from school following alleged bullying incidents. Wojciech Krysinski, 13, was advised by a medical professional to consider alternative education due to the impact of ongoing harassment and hate crimes he experienced at Maricourt Catholic High School in Maghull. His father, Karol Krysinski, shared distressing videos showing his son being mistreated.

Merseyside Police is investigating reports of hate crimes and assaults involving a student at the school. Maricourt High School emphasized its commitment to student welfare and safety, denouncing any form of violence or misconduct. The school’s headteacher, Tracy Hatton, expressed confidence in the school’s environment and welcomed police inquiries.

Following a recent incident at the school resulting in Wojciech being hospitalized, his GP recommended a change of schooling environment for the sake of his mental health. The family confirmed their intention to transfer him to another school. Sefton Council notified the family about potential fines for the prolonged absence, prompting them to seek a suitable resolution.

In response, Sefton Council explained that standard attendance procedures require a welfare check for extended absences to ensure the child’s well-being. The school reiterated its commitment to addressing any allegations seriously while maintaining a supportive learning environment for all students. The family’s demand for a police investigation is under consideration.

For any information regarding the incident, individuals can contact Merseyside Police through various channels. Additionally, resources such as Crimestoppers and Stop Hate UK are available for anonymous reporting and support for victims of hate crimes.
