When it comes to taking care of our well-being, sometimes we need some extra assistance and guidance.
With over 360 in-store pharmacies spread across the UK and catering to more than half a million customers weekly, Tesco is dedicated to offering support. They ensure easy access to prescriptions, a wide range of healthcare services, and the opportunity to consult with their knowledgeable pharmacists while doing your regular shopping.
Many individuals find it challenging to schedule essential health checks amidst their busy schedules. When time is limited, seeking answers to health concerns from online sources can be more stressful than reassuring.
“This is why we provide prompt and convenient pharmacy services, health advice, and health products in our pharmacies for our customers to utilize while they are already in the store,” notes Tom Lye, Tesco’s category director for health and wellness.
From flu vaccinations and immunizations to weight management solutions, Tesco’s in-store pharmacies serve as a comprehensive resource for friendly guidance. “Just a brief visit to the store can offer essential reassurance or the assistance our customers require,” mentions Tom.
Moreover, pharmacists can help save time by prescribing treatments for various common ailments such as sore throats, earaches, insect bites, sinusitis, and UTIs through the NHS Pharmacy First service, eliminating the need for a GP appointment.
There are also services available for managing long-term health conditions.
“Our Tesco Pharmacists have received additional training from Cancer Research UK, Diabetes UK, and the British Heart Foundation to deliver information, support, create awareness, and reduce the risks associated with cancer, heart and circulatory diseases, and type 2 diabetes,” discloses Tom. “While shopping at Tesco, simply approach the pharmacy counter and ask to speak with the pharmacist wearing a Let’s Talk badge.
“For inquiries regarding heart health, our pharmacy teams are prepared to conduct a quick, friendly walk-in blood pressure check – no appointments needed,” assures Tom. “A short visit to the store can provide peace of mind or prompt necessary support.”
Just this year, Tesco Pharmacies have administered over 9,000 complimentary blood pressure tests to customers – a valuable service leaving a significant impact.
It’s not only customers who can benefit from the services offered by in-store pharmacies.
“Tesco employees can also access the convenience of support through our pharmacies and other health services,” Tom adds.
“All employees have the opportunity to engage in virtual GP consultations and receive additional assistance on areas like sleep therapy, nutrition, physical activity, and mental well-being through the Employee Assistance Programme.”
