“Three Rescued After Avalanche Hits Austrian Ski Resort”

Three individuals were successfully rescued following an avalanche incident on a skiing mountain in western Austria. The avalanche occurred around 9.30 am in an off-piste area of the Stubai Glacier in Tyrol, prompting a large-scale rescue operation involving approximately 250 individuals, including rescue dogs, helicopters, soldiers from the German Bundeswehr, and Polish mountain rescue teams. According to reports, three injured skiers were airlifted to a hospital in Hall in Tirol, although the severity of their injuries remains unclear. Emergency services promptly rescued six skiers, while two others were later found alive. Stephan Gröber, a member of the rescue teams, mentioned that some partially buried individuals had already been saved with minor injuries, with ongoing efforts to bring additional personnel to the Stubai Glacier. Rescue operations concluded around 1.20 pm local time.
