Tiger Woods has entered a plea of not guilty following an arrest resulting from a rollover crash involving two vehicles in Florida. The renowned golfer, aged 50, is facing charges for driving under the influence, causing property damage, and refusing to undergo a lawful test.
The incident occurred when Woods overturned his vehicle while attempting to pass a tow truck on a narrow road, ultimately leaving his SUV on its side. Despite registering a 0.00 on a breathalyzer test, he declined to undergo a urinalysis test. Following the crash, Woods was required to spend eight hours in Martin County Jail before being released and returning home.
Reports suggest that Woods’ guilty plea was accessed through court records, with attorney Douglas Duncan set to represent him. This development coincided with comments made by former President Donald Trump to the New York Post regarding Woods’ situation, expressing optimism about Woods’ well-being amid physical challenges.
Sheriff John Budensiek of Martin County provided details of the crash, mentioning that while initial suspicions of alcohol impairment were dispelled, Woods was charged due to his refusal to submit to a urinalysis test. The investigation was prompted by a rollover crash involving Woods’ Land Rover, with law enforcement observing signs of impairment before his arrest.
Although no injuries were reported in the crash, Woods exhibited signs of impairment during roadside tests, leading to his arrest and subsequent detention. Sheriff Budensiek noted that Woods, despite his medical history of injuries and surgeries, displayed concerning signs during the investigation.
