However, placing your router on a windowsill or in direct sunlight can push it beyond its optimal operating conditions. Think of it akin to how you seek shade when your skin starts to burn.

Relocating the router away from sunlight is the initial step, but positioning matters in other aspects as well. While concealing your router in a closet or enclosed space may seem neat, poor ventilation can also diminish Wi-Fi performance.
Virgin Media advised, “Proper placement of the Hub can enhance Wi-Fi coverage. Avoid stashing the Hub in a closet or behind your TV.”
For optimal connectivity, keep your router in an open area, elevated off the floor, and positioned centrally in your residence. Additionally, ensure it is away from devices that could cause interference, such as cordless phones, baby monitors, and microwave ovens.
One more thing to avoid is situating your router near a fish tank, as the water can disrupt Wi-Fi signals, hindering connectivity throughout your home.
