“Ukrainian Drone Strikes Spark Fire at Russian Oil Terminal”

Ukrainian strikes caused a fire at an oil export terminal in St. Petersburg on Sunday, as Kyiv deployed over 1,000 drones across Russia in a significant aerial assault. The incident occurred amidst escalating tensions between Ukraine and the United States, with President Donald Trump criticizing Kyiv for targeting Russian oil facilities.

According to local Governor Alexander Beglov, one person died and five others were injured in the attack, which resulted in fires at the Petersburg Oil Terminal and the Ruchi oil depot in the city. Additionally, logistics facilities of Russian retailer Ozon and a data center of local tech giant VK were also hit in the assault, as confirmed by the respective companies.

The Russian Ministry of Defence reported that their forces had intercepted and destroyed 1,015 Ukrainian drones across 15 Russian regions, including Crimea and the Black Sea.

Meanwhile, in a separate incident, a woman lost her life and at least two individuals, including a six-year-old girl, sustained injuries following two Russian attacks on the southern Ukrainian city of Zaporizhzhia on Saturday.

The assaults led to damage to two apartment buildings, 18 cars, and an educational institution, as per Mykhailo Semikin, the head of the Zaporizhzhia Regional Military Administration.

Despite President Trump’s announcement of an “energy ceasefire” between Russia and Ukraine, Kyiv reported renewed attacks on Russian oil infrastructure after a temporary halt. Ukrainian authorities expressed dismay over Russia’s persistent aerial strikes on their energy facilities, despite Trump’s call for both sides to cease such actions.

President Zelenskyy voiced his frustration over Russia’s continuous bombardment of Ukraine’s energy infrastructure, highlighting that Russia had targeted Ukrainian energy, oil, and gas sectors 76 times in the week following Trump’s ceasefire announcement.
