“Vodafone Launches Scam Call Protection Service”

Vodafone Introduces Scam Call Protection Service to Combat Phone Scams

The rise of unwanted phone calls has become a common headache for smartphone users, with reports indicating that individuals in the UK receive an average of eight such calls every month. These calls often aim to extract personal information and credit card details for fraudulent purposes.

To address this issue and enhance customer security, Vodafone has unveiled a new feature named Scam Call Protection. Leveraging artificial intelligence technology, this service is designed to detect and flag potentially harmful calls, including spam, scams, and nuisance calls.

Operating discreetly in the background, the system scrutinizes all incoming calls. If any suspicious activity is detected, customers will receive a clear on-screen notification identifying the call as potentially fraudulent.

Rob Winterschladen, Consumer Director at Vodafone, emphasized the challenges of recognizing scam calls and the importance of feeling secure. He highlighted that Scam Call Protection on Vodafone Secure Net Mobile offers an added layer of protection by continuously monitoring calls and alerting users to known or suspected scam calls. This initiative underscores Vodafone’s commitment to delivering comprehensive digital security, empowering users to navigate their digital environment with confidence.

The Scam Call Protection service is integrated into Vodafone’s Secure Net Mobile platform, which also includes features such as advanced parental controls, continuous ID monitoring for identity theft prevention, and real-time virus and malware protection.

Interested individuals can trial the service for three months at no cost, with a subsequent monthly fee of £2 for continued access.
