“German Prince Proposes in Japan, Shares Engagement Selfie”

A prince and his new fiancée have reason to celebrate after he proposed during a trip overseas. Prince Johannes Oettingen-Wallerstein, a member of a prominent aristocratic family in Germany, asked Luisa Textor to marry him while attending a family wedding in Japan. Johannes, 27, gave Luisa, 25, a stunning triple sapphire ring, and the couple looked radiant in a selfie shared to announce their engagement, set against a beautiful backdrop.

The happy news was announced on social media by Johannes’ father, Prince Carl Eugen zu Oettingen-Wallerstein, who expressed his joy for the couple. While Johannes is not a widely known royal figure, he belongs to the esteemed House of Oettingen, a noble family with a rich history. The couple has not revealed a wedding date yet, and it remains uncertain whether they shared the news on their private social accounts.

The couple’s engagement took place during the wedding of Prince Johannes’ maternal uncle, Prince Peter of Sayn-Wittgenstein-Sayn, in Japan. Prince Carl, Johannes’ father, married Princess Alexandra of Sayn-Wittgenstein-Sayn in 1994, but they separated in 2006. They have two children, Johannes, and his older sister, Princess Helena.

Johannes also has three half-siblings: Prince Eugen from his father’s second marriage, and Countess Elisabetta and Count Lászlo from his mother’s second marriage. The family received warm wishes from well-wishers on social media following the engagement announcement.
