Deadly Crash in Ireland: Bus, Truck, Car Collision

Two individuals lost their lives, and several others sustained injuries in a severe collision involving a bus, truck, and car in Ireland today. The tragic incident occurred in Gormanston, Co Meath on the R132 this morning, with witnesses noting the presence of multiple ambulances, medical vehicles, and fire engines at the scene.

The deceased bus driver has been identified as Paul Conway, while the other fatality, Wesley O’Reilly, in his late 40s, was the driver of the lorry involved in the crash. The collision, which left at least 12 people injured, occurred on a busy section of the road.

Paul Conway, in his 50s, was driving the Route 101 bus when the accident happened early in the morning. The community expressed deep gratitude for the essential bus service provided by the 101 route. Minister for Justice Jim O’Callaghan extended his condolences to the victims, emphasizing the importance of road safety during the holiday season.

The Gormanston area road, R132, remains closed as investigations continue. Sinn Féin TD for Meath East, Darren O’Rourke, offered sympathies to the victims and highlighted the community’s support during this challenging time. Gardaí are urging any witnesses to the collision to come forward and provide any relevant footage for investigation.
