A British man, aged 57, was discovered deceased at a marina in Costa del Sol. The body was retrieved from the waters of Benalmadena leisure port, also known as Puerto Marina, after being sighted by a concerned passerby.
The National Police in Malaga reported that there were no apparent signs of violence on the body or in the vicinity, pending further autopsy results. An investigating magistrate has taken charge of the ongoing inquiry. Details regarding whether the man resided locally or was a tourist, as well as his potential ownership of a boat at the marina, remain unclear at this point.
A spokesperson from a government-operated emergency response center disclosed that the body of a 57-year-old man was found at the marina the previous morning, with his nationality only confirmed the following day.
The spokesperson mentioned that the man’s body was spotted by a member of the public at pier three in Puerto Marina, Benalmadena, prompting emergency services to be alerted at 8:45 am. Various authorities, including the Health Emergency Centre, Civil Guard, Red Cross, Maritime Rescue, National Police, and Local Police, were mobilized in response.
