Conservative Member of Parliament Larry Brock has announced his intention to step down from his position in the House of Commons next month. Representing the Ontario riding of Brantford—Brant South—Six Nations, Brock was elected to Parliament in both the 2021 and 2025 elections. Before his time in the House of Commons, he worked as an assistant Crown attorney.
In a social media post on Thursday, Brock revealed that he has accepted an offer to rejoin the Brantford Crown Attorney’s office, citing a desire to return to the frontlines of justice. His resignation is set to become effective on September 18, according to the letter detailing his departure.
Conservative Leader Pierre Poilievre expressed gratitude towards Brock for his contributions as an MP, offering well wishes for Brock and his family in a brief message on social media. The Conservative Party, which secured the second-highest number of seats in the 2025 federal election, has witnessed the departure of seven MPs from its caucus, including Brock, in recent times.
Among these departures, four Conservative MPs defected to the governing Liberals: Chris d’Entremont, Michael Ma, Matt Jeneroux, and Marilyn Gladu. Additionally, Richard Martel, the former MP for Chicoutimi—Le Fjord in Quebec, was appointed to the Senate by Prime Minister Mark Carney in July.
Further, Conservative MP Cathay Wagantall, who has served since 2015, will be resigning from her seat in Yorkton—Melville, Saskatchewan, effective August 31.
