“Fatal Shooting at Swiss Rave: One Killed, 5 Injured”

A fatal shooting occurred at a rave event in the northern Swiss canton of Aargau early Sunday, resulting in the death of one person and injuries to five others, according to local authorities and media outlets. The police are actively searching for the perpetrator, with motives and details surrounding the incident still under investigation.

The cantonal police confirmed that a 22-year-old woman succumbed to her injuries at the scene, while four men and one woman, aged between 24 and 27, were hospitalized with varying degrees of injuries. All the victims are Swiss residents, and their identities have been withheld in adherence to privacy laws.

The incident took place in Aarau, the canton’s capital, approximately 46 kilometers west of Zurich, during the “Aarau Rave VOL. 7” event at the horse racing track in the Schachen district. A significant police presence, including armed officers, firefighters, and ambulances, responded to the scene following the shooting.

Authorities have launched a manhunt for the suspect, urging residents to avoid the area. Assistance from police in Freiburg, Germany, has also been enlisted in the search efforts. Eyewitnesses initially mistook the gunshots for fireworks until a warning prompted them to take cover.

Following the conclusion of the rave, the shooting occurred, prompting police to relocate remaining attendees to a nearby gym for safety. Officials have appealed to anyone with videos or photos of the incident to come forward and assist in the investigation.
