Provincial authorities disclosed on Monday that approximately $1 million worth of narcotics, currency, firearms, and stolen goods were seized by provincial police, leading to the arrest of seven individuals in a comprehensive investigation covering a significant portion of southwestern Ontario.
The investigation, initiated in January 2026, focused on two separate criminal groups operating autonomously, as stated by the OPP. One group was active in London and the adjacent Oneida Nation of the Thames area, while the other group operated in the Brantford vicinity.
A total of 64 charges have been leveled against the seven individuals involved, with three hailing from London, one from Southwold, and three from Brantford. Authorities indicated that two of the suspects, one from London and one from Brantford, are currently evading capture and face charges under warrants.
Multiple search warrants were executed on Jul. 7 at four locations in Brantford and Paris, Ontario, and on Aug. 12, police conducted searches at a residence in London and another in the Oneida Nation of the Thames community. These searches yielded the following recoveries:
– Approximately 6.5 kg of suspected fentanyl.
– Roughly 4.2 kg of suspected cocaine.
– About 2.5 kg of suspected methamphetamine.
– Over $73,500 in cash.
– An auto-switch handgun.
– A rifle.
– Three prohibited magazines, including an over-capacity drum magazine.
– Ammunition.
– Brass knuckles.
– Equipment related to drug trafficking.
– Two stolen camper trailers.
– A stolen 2019 Honda Civic.
Police assessed the street value of the narcotics at over $913,000 and valued the stolen goods at more than $100,000. According to the police statement, “The quantity of fentanyl seized represents approximately 65,000 potentially lethal street-level doses.”
The charges brought against the implicated individuals in the investigation span from firearm-related offenses to drug trafficking and possession of stolen items. Authorities are encouraging individuals with information regarding illicit firearms or drug production and distribution networks to reach out directly to law enforcement or provide anonymous tips through Crime Stoppers.
