Former Arctic Bay Association Executive Faces Fraud Charges

Nunavut RCMP have reported that a former executive of the Arctic Bay Hunters and Trappers Association may have committed fraud against the organization, resulting in a significant financial loss. The ex-manager is facing charges including fraud over $5,000, fraudulent accounting practices, and breach of trust. According to a recent press release by the RCMP, authorities were alerted in 2024 about suspicious financial activities linked to the Ikajutit Hunters and Trappers Association in Arctic Bay.

Following an investigation, it was discovered that there were unauthorized transactions totaling more than $230,000 between 2022 and 2024. The former manager is set to appear in court in Arctic Bay on October 5 to address the allegations.
