Miyu Yamashita Dominates CPKC Women’s Open

Japan’s Miyu Yamashita secured a commanding victory at the CPKC Women’s Open held at the Royal Mayfair Club in Edmonton. The 25-year-old golfer clinched her fourth LPGA Tour title, marking her second win of the year. Yamashita finished the tournament with a stellar 23 under par after shooting an impressive 4-under 66 in the final round.

Maintaining a significant lead throughout the event, Yamashita finished nine strokes ahead of her compatriot Yuri Yoshida, who secured the runner-up position at 14 under par. Vancouver’s Anna Huang also delivered a strong performance, carding a 5-under 65 to finish tied for fourth place at 12 under par, emerging as the top Canadian player. Meanwhile, Calgary’s amateur golfer Aphrodite Deng finished at 11 under par after a final round score of 69.

Two-time champion Brooke Henderson from Smiths Falls, Ont., ended the tournament at 7 under par following an even par 70 in the last round. The upcoming LPGA tournament, the FM Championship at TPC Boston in Norton, Mass., is set to kick off this Thursday.
