The Blue Jays have brought back right-handed pitcher Spencer Arrighetti after his recovery from a foot nerve issue that had kept him on the injured list for 15 days. Arrighetti, who had been sidelined since July 25 due to Morton’s neuroma, was acquired in a trade with the Houston Astros before the MLB trade deadline, swapping for centre-fielder Daulton Varsho.
Additionally, utility player Davis Schneider has been called up from the Blue Jays’ triple-A team in Buffalo, NY. Both players were set to join the lineup against the New York Yankees. In corresponding roster adjustments, left-handed pitcher Brendan Cellucci has been sent down to triple-A, while infielder Josh Smith has been added to Toronto’s 10-day injured list due to left hamstring inflammation.
