“Worcestershire Offers Up to £500 Energy Aid for Struggling Households”

Struggling households in Worcestershire are encouraged to verify their eligibility for potential energy bill assistance of up to £500. Residents of Malvern, Worcester, Wychavon, Bromsgrove, Redditch, or Wyre Forest District with a gross annual household income of £24,570 or less (for singles without children) can apply for support. Other households, with an income threshold of £31,000, excluding benefits, and meeting specific vulnerability criteria, like receiving DWP benefits, being of state pension age, or having children under four, may also qualify.

Households with children under 18 or young adults in full-time education up to 21 could receive up to £500 in energy aid, while other households might be eligible for up to £300. The assistance will be provided directly to suppliers or through Post Office vouchers for pre-payment customers. Interested individuals can apply for the program through the Act On Energy website.

The initiative, part of the Household Support Fund by Worcestershire County Council, aims to assist vulnerable families. Those outside Worcestershire should contact their local council for available support options. For instance, Surrey County Council is offering up to £300 in supermarket vouchers to eligible residents, which can be used at various supermarkets including Aldi, Asda, Morrisons, Tesco, and Waitrose.

Nottingham City Council is distributing £100 vouchers to low-income individuals or benefit recipients, with vouchers expected to arrive by February 28, 2026. Wakefield Council is providing food vouchers to low-income households receiving council tax support, while pensioners receiving Council Tax Support may have received a £70 voucher in November. Additional vouchers are scheduled for families and households receiving Council Tax Support in December. Apply for these schemes as per the specific eligibility criteria set by each council.
